Sha la la la la

I love how when you hear a song it will flash you back to a certain place and time. I can't help but stop and reminisce....

Suddenly its 8th grade and I am laying in front of my boom box and staring at the cd insert and wishing with all my heart that JC Chavez secretly knows how beautiful our babies would be.

Hearing Blink 182 in the Wendy's parking lot with my best friend and her way cool older friends

Eating a #2 meal from McDonald's with my best friend, listening to Van Halen in my favorite ACDC shirt. Skipping school and feeling like the coolest thing to hit Alta.

Driving in the car with my first boyfriend wearing his cowboy hat and singing my favorite song with all the best actions I can muster while the sweet summer sunset lights up the car as he smiles at me like there is nothing better.

Dancing as provocatively as possible in front of my dining room window while avoiding homework like the plague with my best friends. In the cold cold Logan winter. (Jazz Hands) ......I just died in your arms tonight!

Finding myself in a relationship I didn't know I was in due to the most obnoxious song Jimmy Fallon ever wrote. It still makes me smile.

Dancing with my sweetie at our wedding, feeling the sweet bliss and excitement of a new life. relishing in the moment and pleading with heaven to let it last just a second longer.

Being halfway across the world, standing in a sacred place and singing a beautiful hymn. Hearing the sweet harmony of three different languages and feeling my saviors embrace. Knowing that although the 5500 mile distance from my family feels far, its nothing compared to the eternity I have to share with them.

Cheesy as this may be, I can't help but love those moments. I love feeling swept away and feeling that little warm and bubbly even if for a moment. Its things like this that get me through the day.

Epiphany!

It has recently been brought to my attention that my backpack is especially nerdy. It appears as if I am about to scale a mountain or go backpacking in the Catskills. Everyone agrees...I have a serious backpack. Problem is apparently in my major...everyone is too cool for backpacks. They all carry fabulous carryall bags or chic patterned bags. I am the outsider. I never even realized due to the fact that I am usually running in seconds before class starts and desperately trying to maintain composure.
A lovely man with long curly locks of hair and skinny pants made a verbal note of it.
Talk about embarrassing, a man who looks better in skin tight pants than I do, called me out on a fashion faux pas.

I decided I can't just go get some kind of bag because I am way too in love with all the pockets and waterproofedness and comfy totability.
I sat and I thought....and thought.....and thought. Then it hit me like lightening.

Diaper bags!!

They have ample pockets, waterproofing, storage, will fit my laptop, and are freaking adorable!
I am a convert...I don't care that I dont have kids...I will never be ashamed of carrying
a diaper bag in substitution of a backpack.
now the only problem is getting hubs to agree that hundreds of dinero
is totally worth it for this:

Lake Powell

I went. It was sunny and a bit rainy. More like Monsoons with 70 mph winds. None the less we had fun. We played extreme water spoons. Its like regular Spoons but instead you use waterproof cards and water bottles that you throw out into the Lake. When someone gets 4 of a kind...everyone races into the lake and swims like mad to get a water bottle.....SUPER FUN! Our Air Matress almost blew away a bunch. It also has a slow leak, which equates to a large taco like shape with Ty and I in the middle. The Taco filling if you will. Basically what all of this boils down to is not so much on the sleep end of things. Oh well..it was well worth the sacrifice. Now back to work and reality. Boo. School starts in a week and I am so not looking forward to it. I am looking forward to being in the same place as my husband at all times. Sucks living a double life in two cities.

I am having serious mournful feelings for the end of summer. Where did it go? It went too fast. I am so sad, and I can't believe it came and went. Snow cones, pool time, sunsets, playing outside, and lounging without a feeling of complete panic at the next school days agenda is just too lovely to give up. Please don't leave so soon!

OH! I also may have accidentally wrecked my Jet ski into my sister in laws...and threw her off of it. No one knows yet.....SHH!

gross

I went to a work out class this morning and half way through some sort of Alien life form started using my uterus as a punching bag, while wearing
Freddy Kruger nails
.
To quote one of my favorite movies;
"It feels like I am shitting a knife!"
Needless to say I spent the rest of my workout walking at 3 miles an hour on a treadmill
while everyone else watched from afar as they
worked their butts and legs into submission.
I told them it was lower back pain.
They soooo believed me.
I AM A HUMBLED WUSS.
40 year old woman kicked my trash.
Its going to be a great day.

Super Duper Awesome.

My life changes a lot. It changed last week. I still have no desire to write about it. Basically Ty and I are homeless. We bounce from moms house to friends houses on the weekends, and back to moms house. Its super fun. My entire collection of possessions are in a Storage Unit. Again Super Awesome. I need to find a house to live in before school starts. Maybe later I will tell you more details. Maybe. For now I am relishing in the peace of Sunday naps, and design blogs.

Lake Tahoooooooooo

For Fam vaca this year...we went to Lake Tahoe. It was my first time ever. I was skeptical..i thought to myself why in the world would I drive to California with 9 other people to see a lake in the mountains...can't we just drive to Deer creek and be there in a flash?
Turns out its not bad at all. In fact its beautiful and it was worth every second of the 9 hour drive through nothingness in the blazing heat. The following are pics from the trip. In no particular order.

We drove to see the giant redwoods! It was SOOO cool! This is no where near the biggest ones...its just the one we parked next too. I felt like I was in Star Wars for some reason...I honestly though that an ewok was going to wander by and offer me some bark to suck on.

Back in Middle School Days my best friend Meggy and I would do this work out routine...we were a real crowd pleaser. Turns out my family thought Ty and I were pretty funny too!

Pioneers cut this out of the tree to drive through it....can't go over it, can't go under it, can't go around it....wait, wouldn't that have been easier than THROUGH it? Maybe they were delirious from crossing the Nevada desert because its just that pretty. right.

We are standing in the roots of a tree that tipped over. Its that big. oh wow.

Oldest and youngest sisters!

All the siblings in one place. We don't look alike.
Note: My hair color has lessened from cartoon color.

My attempt at hiking to a waterfall ended up with Ty playing Sherpa.
He uses 13% less fuel and is #1 in quality control, with the smoothest ride available.
Yours for only a lifetime of payments at a ridiculous interest rate.

Its called the Burger lounge and its PHENOMENAL! I love pesto fries! You should too!!

The Whole Fam Damily.

summoning our eagle powers.

Emerald Bay, part of the lake through the moving car window. Apparently those signs that say Slow tight switchbacks 35 MPH.....those don't apply to my dad. Last time I checked 60 was no where near 35's neck of the woods. Time to get those bifocals checked.

Right after he threw 60 soda cans in the lake and kicked a baby duck. Ha ha Just Kidding.

Eating at the burger lounge...they encourage you to eat fast because their tables are 300 degrees hence my sister's most beautifullest face, and by making sure the shade from the umbrellas hits the concrete surrounding the table that is bolted to the floor, but no the actual table itself. Awesome.

All in all it was a great trip and I love spending time with my fam. I miss them terribly and its so nice to be with them. My uncle flew in from Oklahoma and it was great to spend time with him. My wardrobe thinks so too. Sometimes I can't help but feel like my family could not be anymore embarrassing, but then I remember that they are mine forever, and days like this don't come around very often. The weather is beautiful, the air is sweet and my family is laughing. There is no greater joy.

American Fourth of July

Happy 4th of July from the shores of Lake Tahoe!

Papa son, Uncle Spikey
Shane, Dillon, Anna
Ty, Me, Molly, Sarah

P.S. If you are wondering why my hair is the color of a frozen mixed drink,
My sister and I thought it would be a great idea to color my hair ourselves. The result has been non stop nicknames ranging from Dr. Gene Gray (X Men) to Ariel from The Little Mermaid.
My personal favorite: Strawberry Shortcake.

Yay for Patriotic Hair!
God Bless America.
